Treating Skin Disorders and Diseases

The skin is the largest organ of the human body. The entire area of the human body that is exposed to air is under cover of the skin. Therefore, skin diseases and disorders are common problems. As the skin is the most sensitive part of the body, its diseases are to be treated timely and properly.

Skin diseases and disorders are classified into eight main categories:

The first group includes infectious skin diseases like Cellucitis, Cyst, Pilonidal and Erithrasma. These are caused by microorganisms like fungi, bacteria and others. Lack of hygiene promotes the growth of these microbes on the skin leading to these diseases.

Bulbous disorders like Dermatitis Herpetiformis and Pemphigus fall under the second group of skin diseases. In fact, these are blisters which appear due to chemical reaction on the skin. Accumulation of body fluids around wounds on the skin forms them.

The third group includes Eczema and Dermatitis that are mainly caused by allergies to specific things. Dermatitis can be of many types like nummular, dyshidritic, seborrhoeic, cercarial and atopic.

Papulosquamous disorders such as Psoriasis, Lichen Planus, Pityriasis rosea and Parapsoriasis comprise the fourth group of skin diseases.  They develop patches or plaques on the skin.

The fifth group includes Erythema and Uricaria that are allergic reactions of the skin to various elements. Red spots and burning or stinging sensation in the skin are symptoms of them.

The sixth group consist radiation-related skin diseases like skin cancer, sunburn, solar urticaria and radiodermatitis. Exposure to harmful radiations like ultra violet rays or X-Ray causes these diseases.

The seventh group incorporates the diseases of the skin appendages like hair, nails, sebaceous glands, sweat glands and arrector pilli. Ophiasis, Pseudopelade and Androgenic alopecia are some of them.

Other skin diseases and disorders like vitiligo, leukoderma, freckles, pigmentation and so on form the eight or the last group.

Treatment for Skin Disorders

Topical drugs (drugs applied directly to the skin): These are the most effective remedial options for skin diseases. However, systematic drugs too are prescribed to patients for treating skin disorders. Topical drugs are of various overlapping categories like:

Cleansing agents: Soaps, solvents, detergents are good cleansing agents for wounds, abrasions and cuts. Baby shampoos are beneficial cleansing agents too.

Protective agents: Oils, ointments and sunscreens are good protective agents. Oils and ointments form a layer of oil that helps to protect the irritated or scraped skin. Application of sunscreen works like a barrier between the skin and the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.

Drying agents: OTC antiperspirants are aluminum salts-containing solutions that are effective drying agents. These are good remedies to excessive sweating. Astringents are drying agents in liquid form. Astringents like Whitch Hazel treat oozing skin lesions, pressure sores and infectious eczema.

Anti-itch agents: Chamomile, camphor, eucalyptus, menthol, talc, zinc oxide, calamine and glycerin are other good anti-itch agents that have been proved to treat the itching sensation on the skin.

Anti-inflammatory agents: Corticosteroids are good anti-inflammatory agents to ease inflammation of the skin like swelling, redness and itching. These agents reduce allergic reactions of the skin to metals, cloth, poison ivy, eczema, drugs and so on.

Anti-infective agents: Antibiotics, insecticides and antifungals are effective anti-infective agents. These prevent viruses, fungi, parasites and bacteria from infecting the skin. Stronger anti-infective agents are used in surgical cases. The place of incision is applied with an anti-infecting agent after the surgery.

Keratolytics: Keratolytics ease the peeling and flaking process by softening the skin cells. Salicylic urea and acid are effective and beneficial keratolytics.

Skin Diseases & Disorders Treatment

If you are one of the many people who suffer from skin disorders, you already know that “suffer” is a very accurate way of describing it. There are few conditions which have the potential to cause such a degree of personal misery. In addition to the physical discomfort, skin disorders are often emotionally-draining, also.

If being in the position of coping with these personal aspects of skin disorders is not difficult enough in itself, there is the added factor of the impact it can have on your everyday life.

When a person tries the usual means of coping with eczema or other skin conditions, it is like being up against a dual-situation. On one side there is the factor of the condition itself. It can range from annoying itching and flaking of the skin to actual pain in its most severe states. On the other side of the dilemma is that skin disorders can be quite embarrassing to the person who suffers from them.

While constant itching and scratching can be very embarrassing, especially in public, the popular creams and lotions which are currently available to ease these horrible sensations can increase the self-consciousness that you have about your condition. As most over-the-counter preparations contain an aroma, and some are even visibly noticeable, you may feel that these forms of treatment are nearly as bad as the problem.

Eczema and other skin disorders can come from a number of different sources. Some may be related to a pre-existing medical condition, or result from medications which you are taking. Skin disorders can also be psychologically-based, or they can be caused by a nearly-limitless variety of environmental sources. While it is important to determine precisely what the cause of your own specific condition may be, you are probably more concerned about finding a solution! You simply do not want to suffer anymore!

Fortunately, there is an answer. Even more important, the answer can result in clearing up your skin disorder so that you will no longer need to cope with it. If you have been thinking that the best solution is a permanent solution, you are correct!

The very best form of skin disorder treatment is one which will help you to be rid of the problem. Even if you are aware of this, you may still be considering other forms of treatment, and wondering if any of them could prove to be satisfactory. The fact is you can try every skin disorder preparation which is currently on the market, yet not be completely pleased with the results.

You can purchase a variety of products from your local pharmacy, and make a point of applying them frequently throughout your day. If you try this method, you will probably find many aspects that are not to your liking. These preparations can be messy to use, extremely inconvenient to use on a regular basis, and often noticeable to other people around you.

If you try a number of different products, searching for one which will give you good results, this method can also become rather expensive. You may also be considering the option of using a prescription medication. These, too, can cost a considerable amount of money, in addition to the expense of frequent visits to your doctor.

There is also no guarantee that you will not have uncomfortable side-effects or an allergic reaction to such medications. If you are like most people, you do not like the idea of wasting money on products which may not even work, the inconvenience of taking time out of your busy schedule to deal with applying topical medications or make trips to the pharmacy or doctor, and would be quite happy to find that a better and more permanent solution does exist!

Instead of dealing with the expense, inconvenience, and embarrassment of temporary skin disorder treatments, a permanent solution is now available for you! This is the key which you will find to be the most impressive-- it is a solution, not merely a temporary relief.

Your skin disorder can be dealt with and eliminated! It does not have to continue affecting your everyday life! Perhaps it has been little more than mildly bothersome to you; more likely, it has had quite an impact. It may have caused you to lose your sense of self-esteem, and even been a negative influence on your social life. Perhaps it has led you to feel uncomfortable around people, and you may even be limiting your contacts with other people.

You may be experiencing a degree of self-consciousness, believing that everyone notices the itching, flaking, scaling of your skin, or that they are clearly aware of the products you are using to try to relieve these problems. You are frustrated with your skin disorder and the impact it is having on your life. Now there is a solution that is more appropriate to your needs!
